Volkswagen Buggy is a passenger car with an open passenger compartment, intended especially for recreational purposes. Cars of this type were built especially in the 1960s and 1970s in the USA (especially California) and Western Europe, most often by converting the VW Beetle model. This was for several reasons. First of all, the Beetle model enjoyed enormous popularity in the United States in the 1960s, it was also relatively cheap and technically easy to convert. In addition, it had good properties for driving on sandy areas - as for a car without all-wheel drive (4x4). It is worth noting that Bruce Meyer is often considered to be the "father" of VW Buggy, who in 1964 added a plastic and light body on the modernized VW Beetle frame with the shape characteristic for virtually all later Buggies. At the end of the 1960s, specialized Beetle "tuning" kits produced by several West German companies - for example Autohaus Rudolf Kühn KG. It is worth adding that these very diverse vehicles are available on the secondary market to this day, and their prices can reach up to 45-50 thousand. zloty!
