Choroszy Modelbud A189 Lohnner AA

The Lohnner AA was an Austro-Hungarian prototype fixed-landing gear biplane fighter from the First World War. The drive was provided by a single Austro-Daimler engine with 185 HP. The prototype's flight took place in 1916 - the machine never entered mass production. The deck armament consisted of two 8 mm Schwarzlose machine guns.

The Lohnner AA was commissioned by the Austro-Hungarian Air Force, which commissioned the Lohnner-Werke plant in Vienna to develop a biplane fighter based on the Austro-Daimler engine. The machine had a relatively short and very high hull. During the tests, the machine showed good performance and high top speed, but it also had problems with horizontal flight stability and was rather difficult to pilot. The tall silhouette also made it difficult to take off and land. All these shortcomings caused the Austro-Hungarian Air Force to cancel the project, and the license production of the Aviatik-Berg DI fighter was started at the Lohnner-Werke plant.
