HMS Invincible was a British battlecruiser from the beginning of the 20th century and the First World War. The keel for this unit was laid in April 1906, the launch took place in April 1907, and entry into service with the Royal Navy - in 1909. The total length of the ship at the time of launching was 173 meters, overall width was about 24 meters, with a draft of 9.1 meters. On the other hand, the full displacement reached approx. 20,800 tons, and the maximum speed was up to 25-26 knots. The deck armament at the time of the launch consisted of: 8 305 mm BL Mark X guns, 16 102 mm QF Mark III guns and 5 450 mm torpedo tubes.

However, skeptics called them "dinosaurs with paper skulls". HMS Invincible took an active part in the naval operations during World War I, including in the Battle of Heligoland in August 1914, as well as in the Battle of the Falklands in December of the same year. Unfortunately for the crew and the ship itself, it was also inducted into the Battle of Jutland in 1916, where it fought against German line cruisers. During this battle (on May 31, 1916 to be exact), HMS Invincible was sunk, and only six sailors were rescued from the 1032 crew ...
