The GM C15TA is a Canadian military armored truck during the Second World War. The first copies of this vehicle appeared in 1943, and serial production continued in 1943-1944. About 3,900 cars of this type were built in its course. The vehicle was powered by a single 104hp GM Model 270 engine.
GM C15TA was developed for the needs of the Canadian army in the Canadian branch of the GM concern (General Motors of Canada Ltd.). The vehicle was built on the basis of the standard Chevrolet C15 truck, but with added armor to protect against small arms fire as well as enhanced overall structure of the vehicle. The GM C15TA was most often used as an armored personnel carrier (it could take up to 7 troops), but also as an ambulance or ammunition carrier. It was possible to mount a machine gun or a mortar in it. Often, cars of this type replaced M3 Scout Car vehicles in the line. The GM C15TA was used by the Canadian and British troops, as well as the Polish Armed Forces fighting on the Western Front. After 1945, it was used by many other countries, including Belgium, the Netherlands and Italy.
