Quest 031 Pojazd kosmiczny Wostok-1

Vostok (Polish East) is the collective name of a family of Soviet carrier rockets from the Cold War period. The Wostok 8K72 rocket was 30.84 meters long with a diameter of 2.99 meters. Its total weight slightly exceeded 281 tons. It was able to carry a load of 4550 kilograms to a height of 200 kilometers. Its first launch took place in May 1960, followed by three more - all made from the Baikonur cosmodrome in today's Kazakhstan.

The Wostok family of missiles is based on the R-7 ballistic missile (NATO code: SS-N-6). Vostok rockets have gone down in the history of astronautics as those that for the first time in history launched an artificial satellite into orbit (Sputnik 1 in 1957) and made possible the first human flight into space, which was made by Yuri Gagarin in the ship Vostok 1 in 1961. In total, several versions of the Wostok launch missiles were created, including: Wostok 8K72 (a modernized version of the Luna 8K72 rocket), Wostok 8K72K (version used in manned flights) or Wostok 8A92 (version intended for placing Zenit-2 satellites in orbit around the Earth).
