Nissan Stagea is a Japanese middle-class or upper-middle class passenger car, the so-called a station wagon that was first presented to the public in 1996. Its serial production started in the same year and lasted until 2007. It was concentrated by the producer in Musashimurayama and Tochigi in Japan. It was replaced in the range of Nissan Motor Company by the Skyline Crossover.

The Stagea model did not have a direct predecessor in the Nissan concern and was created as a response of that company to the Subaru Legacy Touring car. In order to simplify production and significantly accelerate the development work, it was decided to use a huge number of components and elements known from Skyline and Laurel cars in the new model. Three generations of Nissan Stagea were created. The first one was produced in 1996-2001 and externally resembled the Nissan Skyline R34. It was offered with four types of engines, ranging from 2.0 to 2.6 liters. The second generation was created in parallel with the first in the years 1998-2001. It differed from it with a raised body and a marginally changed styling. Finally, the third generation went on sale in 2001. It had a clearly improved design - both the body and the interior - it offered engines with a larger displacement (from 2.5 to 3.5 liters), it also used a different gearbox.
