Tamiya 24108 Mitsubishi GTO

The Mitsubishi GTO (another name: Mitsubishi 3000GT) is a Japanese sports car that was first presented to the public in 1990. Its serial production started in the same year and lasted until 2001. It was concentrated mainly in the city of Okazaki in Japan.

Mitsubishi GTO was developed and put into production in order to complement the company's commercial offer and replace the Starion model in the offer. Mitsubishi GTO was a car competing on the market with cars such as Mazda RX-7 or Nissan 300ZX. Compared to its predecessor, the Starion model, it clearly differed in body style - the body became more streamlined, although it still used retractable headlights. The range of available engines has also been expanded, with the introduction of the Twin-Turbo engine with two turbochargers and a capacity of 280 HP and 320 HP. The steering and suspension systems were also significantly improved. Innovative technologies related to all-wheel drive and exhaust system were also used. In the course of production, three generations of the car were made, produced in the years 1990-1993 (1st generation), 1994-1994 (2nd generation) and 1994-2001 (3rd generation).
