Fujimi 043234 Mazda Savanna RX-3 GSII with Racing Decal

The Mazda RX3 (another name: Mazda Grand Familia Coupe or Savanna) is a Japanese passenger sports car that was presented to the public in 1971. Its serial production started in the same year and lasted until 1978 - it was concentrated in the city of Hiroshima, Japan.

The RX3 model has been designed and implemented for serial production in order to expand the commercial offer of Mazda Motor Corporation, and above all to establish a market battle with coupes of such companies as Toyota and Nissan. While the design of the new Mazda was rather typical for that time, the engine was unusual, which was created in the Wankel system and generated 112 HP, which, with a low curb weight, gave quite good performance. The downside, however, was the low efficiency of the engine and considerable fuel consumption. The presentation of the RX3 model unfortunately coincided with the beginning of the fuel crisis, which actually prevented it from achieving greater market success. The Mazda RX3 was offered only as a 2-door coupe, and was replaced by the RX7 model in the company's offer.
