The Lockheed C-2 was an American ejection seat, manufactured for Lockheed F-104 aircraft in versions A, B, C, D, J, DJ, F, G and TF. Originally, the seat ejected in the F-104 planes was the Stanley C-1 seat, which was placed in such a way that in the event of an evacuation, it was lowered downwards and only then the evacuation procedure began. This solution did not turn out to be very lucky and it was decided to replace it with a chair that throws upwards, marked as Lockheed C-2. It is worth adding that both seats were visually similar to each other, with the C-2 model having a changed shape of the footrests or a different handle for firing the chair. The C-2 model also had a completely different launch catapult, finally designated the M-10. It is worth adding that the Lockheed C-2 catapult chair could not be used for evacuation in the event of the plane stopping at the airport or at zero speed. To change this state of affairs, it was replaced by the Martin-Baker GQ-7A armchair
