Meng Model DS001 Kayaba Ku-4 "Katsuodori"

The Kayaba Ku-4 Katsudori was a Japanese WWII experimental aircraft. The drive was to be provided by a single engine pulse or rocket . The flight of the prototype, planned for 1941 or 1942, never came to fruition, and the machine never entered mass production. It is not certain if it was planned to mount on-board weapons on the Ku-4.

The first work on the Ku-4 began in 1940, initially on the grassroots initiative of the Kayaba Industry aviation company, but quickly began to take place under the aegis of the Army's aviation command. The new machine was created based on the experience gained from the operation of Ku-2 and Ku-3 gliders, which were largely based on the aerodynamic system of the flying wing. However, the Ku-4 was supposed to have a propulsion installed - it was planned to install a pulse or rocket engine. It was also supposed to allow checking the unusual aerodynamic system in high-speed flights. However, in 1941, the project was canceled, and the Ku-4 never took off.
