Alvis Stalwart is a British military truck from the Cold War period. The first copies of this vehicle appeared in 1959, and serial production continued in the years 1961-1971. Approximately 1,400-1,500 trucks of this type were built in its course. The vehicle was powered by a 220hp 8-cylinder Rolls-Royce B81 engine.
Stalwart was established as a grassroots initiative of the Alvis plants, which, however, quickly caught the attention of the British Army. The vehicle used many components of other vehicles of this company, including: Saladin or Saracen. The Stalwart truck was characterized by very good off-road properties, thanks to the use of all-wheel drive and amphibious abilities. She could also take a load of up to 9 tons. The car was most often used to transport soldiers or cargo. Two main variants of this Mk. I (FV-620) and Mk. II (FV-622), which differed from each other mainly in the ability to overcome water obstacles and the shape of the driver's cabin and its glazing. Cars of this type were used, among others, in the British Army of the Rhine stationed in West Germany.
